I’m not even sure it’s a real thing, but I got it into my head that the perfect album would be one where you can listen to it from start to finish without wanting to skip a song.
Obviously this is completely subjective. Music I like, others may hate, and even if we both love the same artist or group, we may not enjoy the same songs.
You’d think one of the Beatles albums would fit the bill, especially The Beatles (aka the White Album), but as a double disk release it’s just too big for every song to be a winner (have you heard Wild Honey Pie? Thank God it’s only 53 seconds long. There are thirty tracks on the original album and despite having soooo many of my favorite songs on it (Blackbird, Ob-La-Di, Ob-La-Da, Back in the U.S.S.R, Revolution 9) , I still find myself hitting next on about thirty percent of them.
Sgt. Peppers is a little closer (mostly because there are fewer songs), but songs like Fixing a Hole and She’s Leaving Home don’t grab me like the title track or With a Little Help From my Friends.

Gordon by the Barenaked Ladies is an album I never get tired of listening to, but I still find myself skipping over five of the fourteen songs on it.
You know what comes closest to being perfect? Rumors by Fleetwood Mac. Of all the songs on it, the only ones I’m not a fan of are Songbird, I Don’t Want to Know and Oh Daddy.
What about you? Have you found your perfect album? Maybe I need to listen to Metallicas black album again.
